DESCRIPTION: EPW - J. Ruegger, quarter-hour repeater, 56mm, approximately 16K gold (tested, exhibiting slow fade of 18K solution on stone, no fade of 14K solution) OF original case with exceptional engraving detail to its band, rear with engine turning and foliate engraving detail, signed gilt cuvette, white enamel dial with winding aperture at 2, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with polished steel two-footed balance bridge, s#8347 with matching serial number to cuvette. Gross weight of assembled watch 76.5 dwt (119.0 g). A very attractive watch highlighted by the charming and unusual engraving detail to its band which includes musicians, dancing couples, dogs, a farm house, and farm animals. CONDITION: Mvt: NR, winding arbor not advancing, balance swings freely, overhaul needed, good repeat function and tone apart from a louder than usual background noise as strike train power releases, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, good gilt tone, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with chips or large surface flakes surrounding winding aperture, small abrasions at 9, scratch near perimeter at 10, scattered fine scratches, edge chipping at bottom; fine hands, minute is short likely missing its tip; case rear opens somewhat wide of 90 degrees and has some play at its hinge, case shows hardly any wear, some dings to bezel, superb engine turning and engraving detail; bow pivots freely; good glass crystal.
